Term: 2020-2023

I have been an ERUUF member for over 25 years and involved over the years with UUSC, ERUUF's race equity work, serving as a greeter, gardener, Coming of Age mentor, and parent of three Religious Education graduates. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo) and continue to enjoy a 30+ year career with the US Environmental Protection Agency's air quality policy office.

I have been an active community organizer with Durham People's Alliance and other community groups, leading efforts such as Durham's fight against Amendment One, supporting activism around criminal justice reform, queer families, immigrant justice, dismantling racism, and organizing on environmental issues.

I have lived and worked in Durham since 1996 with my wife, Julie, and our three young adult children, Sam, Jake and Emma.  My favorite pastime is planning and taking trips to far and near corners of the planet. I am an avid foodie and gardener and have found there is nothing you cannot grill.
