DESCRIPTION:Spirituality without Truth Claims\nBritt Hartley is a “deconstr
ucted Mormon” who now describes herself as an “atheist spiritual director.
” She emphasizes a lens that views religion as a cognitive technology that
has had thousands of years to learn how to provide some elements that are
critical to leading a meaningful life. She suggests that the secular comm
unity has much to learn about meeting basic human needs such as providing
community\, facing existential fears\, honoring the rhythms of life\, and
providing moral education. She advocates for nonreligious people to steal
back “the good stuff” from religion.\nIn preparation for our session\, we
recommend viewing 'Britt Hartley’s recent interview'. It’s just under 40 m
inutes long and well worth your time.\nReach out to the Nontheist Group fo
