Multiplatform (In person and over Zoom)
Presented by Cindy Kuhn and Beth Harvat
Gathering together to identify and discuss our core values, how that impacts our giving, our experiences of giving in the past, and our hopes for the future.
Did all the charitable requests at the end of the year drive bring up anxiety? Do you feel overwhelmed when you receive requests for philanthropic gifts from organizations and family? How do we make those decisions?
At ERUUF we aspire to use our time, talent, and treasure to make the world a better place. But how do we evaluate our “treasure” and then put it to work supporting our fundamental values? How do we decide what our core values are and how to match these with meaningful giving choices?
We can learn from each other and our stories. This will be a 3 class series in which we discuss our core values and how we would like to make a difference in the world. We will consider how our UU values inform our choices. What needs in the world would we like to support? How can we match our resources and our dreams?
RSVP needed for those who want to attend on-line. RSVP appreciated for those attending in person.
Session 1: Defining our core values and how to make a difference in the world. What is our relationship to money? Do our UU values influence how we make our living, what we spend and what we giving?
Session 2: What are my core questions regarding my personal giving? Where do I want to be in matching my values to my giving? How do I match my current financial situation with my giving strategy?
Session 3: We will share ways that giving has been transformative (or not!). What are our giving stories? What will we aim for next?
