The June Nontheist Group meetings will discuss Intelligent Design which is a pseudoscientific "theory of life" that states some living organisms are so complex that they must have been created by a "designer" (read God). Some would argue that Intelligent Design is just another version of creationism. It is also in conflict with the scientific theory of evolution. Proponents of creationism and intelligent design have been persistent in their efforts to get into the school curriculum to influence young minds concerning their alternate “theory” to the scientific theory of evolution. The courts have struck down these attempts but that does not deter them from trying again.
We are a community of non-theists within the Unitarian Universalist tradition. Together, we explore the human experience and support each other in personal growth and in working toward the greater good.
