CANCELED - Artist in Residence Program
Today's session has been canceled due to snow. We will potentially add a class into the schedule.
Please check back later or email the ERUUF Front Office. Stay warm!
Facilitated by Justin "Demeanor" Harrington.
ERUUF's 2024-2025 Artist-in-Residence program will be presenting a series of 6 workshops to the ERUUF community.
Workshop 2 - Wednesday January 22; North Carolina Roots Music: A presentation on the specific history of North Carolina roots music and its impact nationwide, including specific movements and artists who are active right now based in Durham.
Workshop 3 - Wednesday January 29; Technologies of Folk Music: A hands-on workshop on the banjo, bones and instruments that shaped the soundscape of modern American music.
Workshop 4 - Saturday February 1; Folk Music Today: A breakdown on folk elements in pop music, gospel music, and dance music
Workshop 5 - Saturday February 8; How I Create Folk Music That Reaches the Masses: What a modern musical recording session looks like, and a breakdown of exactly how we make the records that end up in movies and on the radio/streaming.
Workshop 6 - Saturday February 15; Let’s Create Together: Demeanor will bring his equipment, and you bring an item of significance to you. He will record the sounds these items make, and turn them into playable instruments on the computer, making a new song together as a small community of artists in the room.
Artist-in-Residence concert featuring Demeanor will take place on May 31, 2025.
