In-Person Pet Blessing Ritual
As part of our effort this fall to "pivot and connect" in new ways, we're planning an in-person Pet Blessing ritual outdoors on the ERUUF campus in front of the CARE building on Saturday, October 23 at 4:30 pm. Masks and social distancing are required.
All pets are welcome to attend with their owners and must be on a short (4'-6') leash or in a carrier. On the advice of a veterinarian, we'll have a section for dogs separate from smaller animals.
As part of this ritual, we'll sing, hear some thoughts about animals and spirituality, and we'll have a procession of animals before stopping at various blessing stations.
We're doing this so we can see each other in person as well as honor our beloved pets. You don't have to have (or bring) an animal in order to participate. You might wish to bring a blanket or chair for the lawn; this might help your animal feel more secure as well.
All are welcome! Questions? Contact Rev. Cayer.
