The Common Woman Chorus is excited to be back at ERUUF performing two concerts on Saturday, November 19 at 3pm and 7pm.
Lifting As We Climb, a commissioned piece by composer Joan Szymko, tells the story of the 70+year struggle to achieve voting rights for women, as well as the subsequent 50+ year struggle to secure voting access for BIPOC women and men through the 1965 Voting Rights Act. A set of popular, cutting-edge music rounds out the program and shines a light on ongoing efforts that would roll back hard-won gains and diminish our voices, our vote, and our rights. It is sure to empower, entertain, and energize.
