Stories of Justice
On July 13, 15 ERUUFians joined UUs from all over the US at the Moral Monday march and witness for voters' rights in Winston-Salem, timed to coincide with the start of the trial of the case against North Carolina's voter suppression law in Federal Court. UUA President Peter Morales joined with Rev. Dr. William Barber, NAACP state President, and other religious leaders at the rally.
The day was hot, the crowd of approximately 3500 was vocal and the presence of somewhere around 500 UUs from many states was uplifting and encouraging. Above all, the message was that we must not give up, that we must continually strive to work for justice and equality and that we must work together to accomplish these ends.
