August 14 - Katharine Moran

Although Kat doesn't know what the moral of her story is yet (unless it is: you ain't seen nothing yet!), she is going to share:

  • The spiritual-religious institutions and ideas she's encountered on her way and how they have contributed to her "spiritual DNA."
  • A few of the events in her life that have had the biggest impact on bringing her to the the HERE/NOW. These are the events that have yielded the most important (and usually hardest won lessons) about how to live--or sometimes how to just keep on keeping on.
  • The apocryphal story of her birth--because everyone knows that all the great spiritual odysseys start with a good (and slightly untrue) birth story

The Path to Now

I grew up in a small Indiana town with loving Lutheran parents who encouraged curiosity but not questioning. Finding one’s own authentic voice is not easy and for me it is still an ongoing journey. But I have always been, and still am, a seeker. I’ve heard that a pilot flying from New York to Los Angeles is off-course most of the time, and makes ongoing course corrections so the plane will reach its destination. Come fly with me as I describe the circuitous and frequently off-course journey, both inner and outer, that has brought me here to now.
