Did you know that much of the landscaping on our campus is maintained by only a handful of volunteers? We wish to recognize and thank our regular all-around volunteers - David Yeomans, Hunter Morgan, Barbara Welanetz, Stacy Kuo, Christian Nadell, Beth Harvat, and most importantly, Barbara Beaman, the garden volunteer coordinator. Barbara’s enthusiasm and willingness to work with covenant groups and individuals has kept our campus beautiful. Our small number of regular garden volunteers are doing a great job AND we need more!
Recently we have expanded the areas that need tending with a new pollinator garden next to the playground and the new rock stream project by the entry sidewalk. We need more folks to show up regularly for our garden days on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Volunteering is a great way to learn more about Southern gardening, native plants, shade gardens, pruning, or garden design. A couple of hours a month by ten or more volunteers can make all the difference! And it’s a great way to enjoy the fellowship of other gardeners.
For more information, contact Barbara Beaman. Stay tuned for more information. Learn about the memorial garden, the De-viners, and the native trees that were planted in place of the great pines and oaks that were cut down to increase solar access.
