????️RENews:

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered for a stormy RE Sunday.

The PreK/K group started the class by being really silly and running in place! Then, they did the chalice lighting, and shared their name and favorite color. They also talked about doing hard things, and read the book I Can Do Hard Things by Gabi Garcia. Afterwards, they continued their courage badge craft, and did a (indoor) rock scavenger hunt. They also watched the thunderstorm and painted the rocks they found.

1-5th RE introduced their new theme of the month: Love! The lesson explained that “love is the foundation” of all that we do and the center of our UU Values. They read the book What is Love? by Mac Barnett, then broke into smaller groups to play a name game, share about things they love to do, and complete a cup-stacking challenge.

Crossing Paths (6-8th RE) had their “Lake Day” for Unitarian Universalism and reflected on their trip to Community Church of Chapel Hill Unitarian Universalist last Sunday. They also spent some time asking questions of the facilitators, particularly those who are long-time ERUUF members. They also submitted questions for Rev. Jacqueline’s upcoming Question Box service.

High School Youth Group gathered for pizza (and garlic and cinnamon knots) and social deduction games. They discussed the upcoming Halloween Fest and potential plans for outings throughout the rest of the year.
