Update for RE for week of 6/23/24
RENews:
The children and youth of RE continued their month-long exploration of Renewal through art this week by focusing on celebrations and Juneteenth. We learned about the history of Juneteenth and the art of Sonia Sadler. We were inspired to make our own scratch art that expressed what celebrations mean to each of us. We will continue creating together throughout June.
This Sunday we will be focusing on Renewal through community and learning about the quilting of Gee’s Bend, Alabama. Our art project will be collages inspired by the amazing quilts. The art we make this month will be shared at the ERUUF Art Gallery throughout the summer starting on June 30th.
