The youth and children of ERUUF explored the ERUUF woods together and created storytelling kits to take home. Storytelling can be a powerful part of friendship making, and we look forward to revisiting this topic soon.

This Sunday we will be making friendship bracelets together and continue to focus on what friendship means to us. We hope to see you there!

2024 Coming of Age (COA) Boston Trip Recap

Hello ERUUFians!

As we come into August, I wanted to give you a brief summary of our Coming of Age trip to Boston this summer! I’ve left out our travel on Wednesday and Monday and our meals, all of which were their own adventures. But below you will find the major things we did with some comments our youth sent me about each location we visited!

And a special thank you to all who helped fund and support the trip! We could not have done this without your contributions and care.

Update for RE for week of 8/4/24

????️RENews:

Children and youth of ERUUF spent Sunday Morning with sweet animal friends. ERUUF Members, Amy Wilson-Stronks and Bill Stronks, shared their beautifully and gently horses Misty and Dexter with us. Children decorated craft horseshoes, petted, brushed, hugged and braided the tails of these sweet giants! Thank you so much Amy and Bill for sharing your horses with us!

This Sunday we will continue exploring our monthly theme of friendship. We hope to see you and your family there!

Update for RE for week of 7/28/24

????️RENews:

ERUUF children and youth spent the morning exploring magic through science experiments.  They worked together to open a watermelon without cutting or smashing it.  Instead rubber bands were used to create pressure that caused the watermelon to explode open. Great joy was found working together and eating the sweet treat!  We hope that your family can join us for our final Sunday of magic inspiration for July.

Update for RE for week of 7/21/24

????️RENews:

Last Sunday the children and youth of RE continued to explore the theme of magic. We discussed the Article 2 process and the recently adopted language around the Unitarian Universalist Values. We then used invisible ink to write messages to each other that were inspired by these values. This week we will continue our inquiry of magic through more science experiments. We hope to see you there!

Update for RE for week of 6/30/24

????️RENews:

The children and youth continued their month-long exploration of Renewal through art this past Sunday by focusing on community and learning about Gee’s Bend, Alabama. We explored the history of Gee’s bend and the amazing quilts that the community is known for. We used our inspiration to create paper collages in the style of quilts. We will conclude our month of Renewal by creating again this Sunday, instead of art it will be a cool favorite summer treat, ice cream! We will also visit the ERUUF Art Gallery to view the first collection of the RE Art Show.

Our high school Coming of Age (COA) youth are traveling this week with Rev Jim and our Youth Specialist Jennifer Nelson to Boston. A pilgrimage trip is taken after the completion of our Coming of Age program to explore our Unitarian Universalist roots. This will be Jennifer Nelson’s last week with us, and we wish her a wonderful welcome as the Director of Religious Education at Providence Unitarian Church in Rhode Island.
