????️RENews:

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to start the May theme of the month, awakening curiosity. They also celebrated Star Wars Day!

The PreK/K group started the class by doing Baby Yoda Yoga, then they introduced themselves to the class and learned about lightsabers and their connection to curiosity and justice. Then, they read the book I am a Jedi and made Jedi shields with glow in the dark pens! They also did a scavenger hunt to find glow in the dark pictures!

The 1st-5th grade class gathered to learn about Star Wars and the connection to UU. They participated in small group discussions centered around fairness, and made their very own lightsabers. They wrapped up the class by doing some ‘jedi training’ and playing on the playground!

The Middle School RE group started the class by learning about Star Wars and discussing unjust empires. Then, they made pool noodle lightsabers and had a lightsaber relay. Afterwards, they played various Star Wars related games.

Both Youth Groups enjoyed a make-your-own smoothie lunch with bagels and snacks. The Middle School Youth Group had planned on having a water day celebration (complete with a kiddie pool), but due to the weather decided to pivot. They played some games indoors before deciding to play toss challenges and a “water waiter” relay with reusable water balloons outside.

High School Youth Group enjoyed a breakfast buffet of bagels and fruit for lunch (thanks, Prue!) and made some perler bead creations.
