This past Sunday children and youth gathered to continue the May theme of the month, awakening curiosity! All classes learned about
The PreK/K group started the class by playing a fun scavenger hunt game, and introducing themselves to the group! Then, they observed a couple of nature finds (and discussed why diversity is important in nature), and read the book The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry. They also made a fun nature mandala, and enjoyed time on the playground!
The 1st - 5th grade class gathered to learn a new song, and discuss the UU value of pluralism. Then, they discussed why it’s important to be different, and broke into groups based on interest. The craft group made beautiful stained glass suncatchers, while the outdoor group did a diversity scavenger hunt.
The Middle School RE group started the class by learning about the UU value of pluralism, and they discussed the iconic speech from the Barbie movie. They also played a mothers day version of “Who Am I?”, and played various other diversity-related games.
High School Youth Group gathered for pizza and conversation, and then dispersed for various Mother’s Day activities!
