ERUUF Participates in the 2019 UUA Common Read
Where Do We Go From Here? In this moment “when hope and despair intertwine,” the question voiced by Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. more than 50 years ago—“Where do we go from here?”—echoes still in the heart and soul of our nation.
As most of you know, our long-time chalice was accidentally broken a while back and we have been using a temporary replacement ever since. Given the importance of the flaming chalice in Unitarian Universalist heritage and services, it was decided to commission a new chalice fitting for our beautiful sanctuary and our services. Supported by an Eno River Fellowship Foundation grant, we are in the process of finding an artist to create ERUUF’s new chalice. A Chalice Team of six members has been assembled, and they have created a Call to Artists that will be distributed in the art community Once applications have been received they will be reviewed by the Chalice Team and presented to the Congregation for discussion and comment. Our goal is to for the final design to reflect a broad consensus among ERUUF members.

Summer Spiritual Odyssey is one of the most interesting programs offered at ERUUF. Each week one of our members shares their unique spiritual journey for about 25-30 minutes, and then fellow members have the chance to ask questions. The Adult Programs Team recruits the most diverse group possible, in terms of age, gender, theology, race and ethnicity, and sexual orientation, and the power of the truth that’s shared and received is amazing.
Odyssey 2018 begins on Sunday, June 24 and continues through the end of August. All are welcome!
